001: The Scene Economy 12 (18) Adidas, “Backyard Legends”
I
What They Did
A 5-minute short film. Timothée Chalamet alongside Messi, Beckham, Bad Bunny, and Trinity Rodman. Set in a backyard, the mythological origin point of every great footballer. A mythology vehicle in which the Adidas boot is simply evidence that you were there. Stock +4% on release day, +13% over the preceding month.
II
Why It Worked
Chalamet has been a documented football obsessive since age 14 so there is structural credibility. Messi and Beckham carry the mythology of what football meant. Bad Bunny carries what it means to a generation. Every casting choice earned on cultural merit. The Daily Mail covered it, a paper that only writes about sportswear during scandal. The Story outperformed advertising in the traditional sense.

The Key Building Block
Earned Talent | Cross-generational casting built a world every generation of fan could enter simultaneously. The breadth compounded the social speculation with every generation sharing it for different reasons, generating organic reach across audiences that no single media buy could have reached.
